2014-06-27
COTEC endorses an expanding Innovative SMEs Network based in Portugal but operating internationally and in alliances through a culture of growth, results and good practices. The priorities of COTEC within the scope of such SME Network are to promote and gain public recognition for this group of companies that reflect, through innovation and competence, the right market attitude and the value creation skills needed to succeed in today’s changing world, and to encourage cooperation between COTEC associate companies and the SMEs based on innovation and skills, so that business opportunities can flourish and the innovation market in Portugal expand and prosper. http://www.cotecportugal.pt/
STAP was one of the companies accepted into the Innovative SMEs Network, which was established in April 2005 as part of COTEC (Business Association for Innovation). Membership in the Network is an open process that is evaluated by the Supervising Committee of COTEC’s Innovative SMEs Network, chaired by Belmiro de Azevedo.
Given the high level of specialisation and the technical nature of the services offered, which differ considerably from regular civil engineering and public works, STAP considers Innovation to be a strategic factor. In this sense, the company has participated in national and European R&D projects, in collaboration with different Science and Technology entities, in order to acquire new knowledge, to seek out more advanced solutions for the problems in its area of activity, and to develop new products.
STAP plans to provide consistent and sustained continuity to Research, Development and Innovation (R&D and Innovation) activities and to take advantage of the contributions offered by COTEC for the Sustained Development of Business Innovation through the many initiatives that it promotes.
