Ancient construction

In current consolidation and strengthening interventions in ancient constructions, the use of everyday materials and techniques (such as cement, steel, and reinforced concrete) has caused various incompatibility problems. It is therefore necessary to turn to compatible and durable materials and technologies that respect the original characteristics of the building. These activities are therefore quite specialised, employing both original materials and building methods used by ancient craftsmen and the most advanced materials available today. Taking this into account, a new company – Monumenta – was put up in 1997 within Stap’ Group, aimed at this specific segment of activity.
