Dock access bridge, Barreiro Industrial Park
The intervention, whose price neared € 26 000, involved strengthening the shoulder using micro-piles and changing the bridge deck support. After excavating the terrain, a drill with diamond crown Æ300 was used to open the shoulder to INSERT micropiles. The micro-pile/concrete connection was provided by steel rods welded to the tubes and by the concrete poured into the openings.
The degraded concrete of the deck support was picked and the strengthening was strengthened, to be subsequently filled with concrete. The intervention was completed by repaving all the affected areas.
The most difficult part of this intervention was perforating the terrain, because it was a landfill made of sand and gravel. For this reason it was necessary to replace the drilling equipment.
