Structural strengthening of several plant facilities, Morocco
This intervention, which was carried out in several phases over more than a year, involved the structural strengthening of several buildings at the Temara cement plant in Morocco, to prepare the way for the installation of new production equipment. The work consisted of using mechanical connections and epoxy resin injection to fix steel plates and profiles to reinforced concrete elements, including the preparation of the concrete surfaces that would be in contact with metal plates and profiles, perforation of the concrete to INSERT metal dowels or screw studs, fitting the metal parts and fixing them with dowels, peripheral sealing of the plates, insertion of injection tubes, and resin injection. The latter operation required sealing the edges of the metal parts with mortar and epoxy resin and the careful insertion of tubes for the subsequent injection.
